Thanks, Matt ~ Camille Olsen

Our fellow artist Dana Cooper has a handsome, brave son who is currently serving in the Air Force. I can't imagine the courage it takes to be in the armed services, especially during any wartime period. This is my tribute to Matt, and all those who make sacrifices for our country by serving in our defense. Thank you, Matt! 7x5 oil

  1. You are the best Camille, I love this painting of my son! You really captured his "what have I got myself into?" face, I like how you did the group behind him too...bravo!!

  5. Camille, this is lovely in so many ways and I know when I see it in person I'm going to see your subtle layering of colors, can't wait. I'm with Edward with the background faces, beautiful suggestion of faces. Also, really like the diagonal lines/shapes in the background against the verticals in the foreground.

  6. Wow, Camille. When I first saw this, my impression was "photo". Dana's reaction of capturing the expression is the bottom line, but you've captured everything...colors, proportions, composition, contrast, perspective. The priceless expression is the crowning touch for a marvelous piece. Kudos to you, Camille, and many thanks to Matt and all servicemen.
