Our fellow artist Dana Cooper has a handsome, brave son who is currently serving in the Air Force. I can't imagine the courage it takes to be in the armed services, especially during any wartime period. Camille, this is lovely in so many ways and I know when I see it in person I'm going to see your subtle layering of colors, can't wait. I'm with Edward with the background faces, beautiful suggestion of faces. Also, really like the diagonal lines/shapes in the background against the verticals in the foreground.

Dana's reaction of capturing the expression is the bottom line, but you've captured everything...colors, proportions, composition, contrast, perspective. The priceless expression is the crowning touch for a marvelous piece. Kudos to you, Camille, and many thanks to Matt and all servicemen.

Camille this piece is stunning. I love the carefully chosen areas that you accented, and the overall warmth. Matt is a brave and strong young man, which you have so ably portrayed.
