For Camille, Peace and Love ;-) Must be the tropical heat here in Maryland, because my colors got away from me and turned all lime and melon and banana, and I swear I'm hearing Calypso music. Camille and her husband are standing near a very rough rendition of my favorite Matisse painting. (Yep, more sailboats). My apologies to the Olsens if I'm not close to a likeness. We haven't met, but rumor has it, both have wicked senses of humor and that they are a colorful and fun-loving pair. Peace out.
Liz, I AM FREAKING *OUT*!!!!!! That is SOOOOOOO COOOOOOL I am DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter just said, "Okay, Mom has said 'OMG that is SOOO COOOL!" seven times now! Liz... I cannot even believe how cool this is, you are a DOLL!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm putting this on Facebook this second. I am dying. LIZ! OMG!!!!! And did you know I love Matisse? OMG And I love THAT Matisse?
OMG, I am CRRRRRAZY about this gorgeous, COOL PAINTING!!!!!
I think Camille's response said it all...I think she is excited!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this photo of Camille and her husband on facebook and I think you captured their likenesses very well. The addition of the Matisse and the color choices, well it's just fun, much like I think Camille and her husband would be...great job!
Great Piece, just love it! Those colours echo right through the painting- a sort of vibration on his shirt!
ReplyDeleteLove your painting and I LOVE Camille's response to your painting...I think she likes it, too. Great colors and I love the addition of Matisse in the open idea; wonderful concept!!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, thanks for commenting on my blog, I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteAll those bright tropical colours and the brushwork in this painting are great! I particularly like the detail & choice of colours in the man's face contrasting with the looseness of the Matisse.
This is fantastic, Liz! It's such a fun piece - the colors and the mood you created are wonderful. I love it and Camille's response to it.
ReplyDeleteWow........ you know how to have fun. This fits Camille and her husband so well and your talents shines through this piece in color, strokes and good vibration. I'll bring the margarita and start dancing. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat I can't believe are the incredible color harmonies she made -- she took the true colors of our photograph (our kitchen pantry wall is really that acid green color, and I was wearing those colors) and made everything, including the shadows of Richard's face, all harmonious. And the brushwork really does give it all a vibrate-y feeling like everyone is saying. This is just an incredible painting. Excuse my earlier freakout but... really. Liz's talent knows no bounds.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see such joy being passed around over the internet! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat painting, Liz! Love your happy colors!!!
Looks and sounds like you hit out of the park here Liz. I love the skin tones and "Camille" colours throughout. It's easy to see why she loves it so much. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCall me over intuitive, but I get the impression Camille may be somewhat pleased with your art effort. Tell you what, Liz..this is great, and you are one brave lady. To tackle two portraits from a Facebook photo, is, to say the least, a monumental task. You succeeded with flying colors...and I do mean flying colors. Everything "fits" perfectly.
