ADEBANJI ALADE

This is for Camille, she had as her theme, "peace" but then she let the flood lights on when she opened the options. I could then only think of adding one more to my emotions and Afro series. Hope she likes them as they are not that peaceful. The guy is high and the girl is one of those manikins on display in fashion clothing stores.

For the guy I used my usual mixed media drawing materials and for the girl I used my trustworthy graphite.

  1. These are superb...excellent...masterful. I'm speechless for want of adjectives here. I love the energy in the guitar player (high or not). The light in the mannequin drawing is beautiful. Love the way bits of her just disappear into shadow. wow!

  4. I am anxiously awaiting Camille's response to your incredible drawings, actually I'm about 200 miles North of her and I think I hear her whooping and hollering now! Absolutely wonderful, both are perfect for her theme of peace...each very much comfortable in their own surroundings. I love the energy in the one and the softness of the other; outstanding, Adebanji!!!

  6. I just now saw these!!! Oh Adebanji, they are EXQUISITE. I am so beyond thrilled that these will be mine. I don't know if you know but guitar music is big in my family (nephew Zach Ernst plays in Black Joe Lewis) and my sister plays classical acoustic guitar. I am crazy about what you did with the man's hair, and just all the squiggly lines on his piece -- I hope you felt some peace while drawing him. I don't care if he's high, I bet he's in is happy place. And the woman is also beautiful and I'm nuts about her big fro -- LOVE it, love her whole figure. As Angela said, one is full of energy and the other is kinda zen. I love it!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for doing this for me!!! Man, the day those books arrive back in our hands is going to be one happy day! :D

  8. Your talents shine so much in these mix media, with all the energy in one and the softness in the other. Although they are music and afro they exude such emotions. Just beautiful and so well worth the wait . BTW always take your time we can all wait, for we learn so much from each other. I thank you.
