VERN SCHWARZ

    TO THE ART SHOW

Whew, I am relieved to get this piece done and hopefully it will dry in time to send it down the road, like our intrepid cyclist pictured above. Several artists have formed a small group filling paint books (moleskins) with a piece from each artist. This was the brainchild of Dominique Eichi who has spent a lot of time organizing this thing . Thanks Dominique and thanks for asking me to join in. I feel honored. I'm not going to set a theme for my book, as everyone has their strengths and passions, and that is what I'd love to see.

  3. And you have an Eichi Way street in your town, huh?! Love it and I know Dominique will, too.
DANG, this group is on FIE-yuh and I'd better get my rear in gear to keep up with you guys! I'm going to say that everyone can do whatever they want in my book, too. I think we do our best work that way. So far all the work is SUPER, everyone! VERY exciting. :D

  6. Vern, this is so warm and inviting; I want to be at one of the tables sipping a little something special enjoying the people on the street. Great composition, especially with the contrast of strong horizontal and vertical blocks of color.

  10. What I love most about this painting is how it has such a Vern feel about it -- your street scenes of people walking along in front of stores or near architecture of some kind really stand out in my mind, also your wonderful earthy palette. Seeing each artist's fingerprint on these is such a treat, I'm getting very spoiled by the fun of this project!
