CAMILLE OLSEN - Portrait of Richard Olsen

I had the hardest time deciding what to paint and then it occurred to me this morning, duh! --my husband Richard! I just took some pictures of him recently and this is from one of my favorites. He is the sweetest man ever born and he's really funny too, always has a twinkle in his eye. This 5 x 8 painting is done in acrylic since I need to mail it tomorrow and I just started it a few hours ago (yes, as usual I procrastinated but I just wasn't sure what to paint!) I plan to paint in oil on gesso in everyone else's books. Angela, off the book goes to you tomorrow, and draw or paint whatever you want. Everyone, Peace was my original suggested theme but just do whatever moves you. Oh boy, launch date tomorrow, woohoo!

  7. Super, Camille. He has a content, happy expression on his face. You either have him trained well or he realizes how fortunate he is to have you. I suspect the latter. :-)

  11. Hey everybody, thank you so much for all the nice comments. I have since decided that this painting is just a little study for a larger portrait in oil which will not have gesso streak marks. Maybe I'll even put him in a shirt with a collar, maybe. Might trim his hair and nails, etc. :)
