Capistrano Courtyard by Edward Burton

oil
This is for Dominique whose moleskin's theme is landscapes, trees, roads, shadows and light. This is a small courtyard at Mission San Juan Capistrano - I consider it to be one of the most beautiful missions in California.

  6. I do love the way you've captured the light in this painting. This is one of those paintings where you can feel the sunshine on your face and hear the water trickling in the fountain, beautiful!

  7. That's the very first thing I noticed also, how well you captured the light and shadow effects. And as I'm trying to obtain some skill in outdoor work myself I can attest that it is easier said than done to get it right. You surely did, Edward. Great job!
