Capistrano Courtyard by Edward Burton
This is for Dominique whose moleskin's theme is landscapes, trees, roads, shadows and light. This is a small courtyard at Mission San Juan Capistrano - I consider it to be one of the most beautiful missions in California.

ReplyDeletean idyllic spot. I'm adding it to my ever-growing list of places to see. Your painting is beautiful. I love that flowering bush especially.
ReplyDeleteOh how peaceful and lovely this is. Thank you Edward for making your work in my moleskin such a delight. I've visited once and I do appreciate that place too.I love that shadow and the arch. Your choice is perfect. Thank you
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful work, Edward. Great colors! I would love to go there!
ReplyDeleteLovely light in this piece Edward, can't wait to see it in person!!
ReplyDeleteI do love the way you've captured the light in this painting. This is one of those paintings where you can feel the sunshine on your face and hear the water trickling in the fountain, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's the very first thing I noticed also, how well you captured the light and shadow effects. And as I'm trying to obtain some skill in outdoor work myself I can attest that it is easier said than done to get it right. You surely did, Edward. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spot and a beautiful painting Ed.
