This is for Michelle Burnett whose moleskin theme is "Postcards and Snapshots". I decided to do a painting of one of my favaorite places - Venice. The long gondolas seemed to be a perfect choice for the format of her book.

Oh, how beautiful, Edward! I'm so excited to see this in person. I loved Venice when I went there. (Nearly 20 years ago!)
ReplyDeleteCan't thank you enough...It's truly masterful!
PERFECT for that format. Absolutely beautiful. I can hear the music from St. Mark's square now.

ReplyDeleteVenice is it's own little world and you captured it beautifully Edward!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, peaceful painting from subject matter to color palette, as always, just perfect!
ReplyDeleteHaving never been to Venice I can say that this fits my dream vision of it perfectly. I love your water ripples, that wonderful long format was a perfect choice for this scene, and the distant foggy shores are really convincing. Your feeling about the place comes through!
ReplyDeleteThese boats look wonderful, and make for a great composition on these panoramic sized pages.
