Peace & Happiness
oil on gessoed paper
"Peace" is the theme of
Camille Olsen's sketchbook so I went with more of the retro idea of peace because I think she's a pretty hip chick! :) This was also my favorite childhood mug that has always offered a little bit of comfort: chicken soup when I was sick or for milk with cookies after school. This Flying Moleskin is now on its return trip home back to Camille!
A very lively and colourful piece!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, my previous comment just got lost again, argh! Michelle, this is really fun and uplifting and believe me, there will be many times I will look at this and just have to smile no matter what is going wrong! Like right now, I can hear my daughter cussing because the pans in the cabinet were a boobietrap and it's my fault. But I'm smiling, because I have this cool painting that tells me everything is copacetic. Yay! Seriously though, I think flowers are really difficult and that's why you don't see me painting them. Yours are very well done and I like the way you varied the turn of the different petals. Verrrry nice and I thank you SO much for sharing your special cup with me! XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful color harmony you've achieved here, you just have to smile at the happiness here, perfect for Michelle's theme!
