Gone Fishin'-Dean H.

Close ups

This is acrylic approx.5x8...on two pages.

This is for Michelle's book. The theme being favorite things...places...memories.
I used to spend more time than any human being should, trying to figure out and many times catching the great large mouth bass. Doing this painting revived many pleasant memories of being wrapped in nature-studying all her many moods and creatures. I feel the experience works it's way into my paintings.

Hope you like it, Michelle.

This and Dominique's book will be headed your way Vern!

  2. I love this, too. Great composition, and you've left enough drama and mystery to keep me looking. Also love the texture you've got going. Great work, Dean!

  3. Me too, I love your painting for Michelle! Love the dark background and the unfinished edges add a lot to the story. In addition to your beautiful color palette, I love the suggestion and transparency of the tail fin. Excellent painting, Dean!

  6. Dean, this could be right out of one of those angler's mags. I love the depth and colour, and the wonderful composition. You told the story without using all the words. Great painting.

  8. Dean, I'm a freak for fish and I love that open-mouth wide-eyed look you gave him. The subtlety of your brushstrokes (those feathery tendrils hanging off him/her?) is awe-inspiring. sooo beautiful!

  10. This, I think, is about my favorite, of all the art I've seen of yours. The realism and values are remarkable.
