7 x 5 oil on canvas
This is my last Flying Moleskins painting and it is for James Parker, whose book theme is animals. These are the dogs of a friend of mine who lives in Wimberley. How lucky are these furry girls to get to dive in this wonderful river with cliffs and gorgeous scenery out in the country? Although I doubt they care about the scenery; they just want to make a big splash. I wish I could jump in right now with them -- it's warm enough here today!
I thank all the FM artists for being on this project with me; it has been a great honor.

Wow! I love the movement in the dog leaping-you've really captured that so well!
ReplyDeleteYou must feel so great completing all yours-I have got 2 or 3 more to go!
Fantastic, Camille! I love the 'flying' dog, too. A great send-off and finale to a fun project.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I can't help but notice the broad smile on the flying dog, beautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteI love the parallels in the paintings and our lives. I see this as a great promise for James that wonderful things are coming his way as he jumps of his rock into the water.
ReplyDeleteYour painting Camille has such a mysterious beauty and a trilling power in the flying dog. I love it.
Dogs having fun - love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a wonderful feeling to read the comments from this group and hear that what you hoped to convey came through, that others felt what you did in your inspiration. I will miss this feedback. Can I hire you guys to keep doing this for me?!?
ReplyDeleteYour diving dogs are just plain fun. The energy and excitement are clearly there, and beautifully depicted.
ReplyDeleteIt has been wonderful receiving your great comments as well.
It has been a pleasure to have been on this project with you, Camille, and all the other 'skinners.
ReplyDeleteLove this painting with the exuberant spirit of the diving dog.
Wow, Camille...I get to the computer so rarely lately, but I don't know how I let this slip by. I love it!!! I think I know where those pups are diving over in Wimberly..just down from Blue Hole. I'm a frequent visitor to Wimberley. Great job...thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteWhew, glad to hear that. I was afraid it was so bad you just couldn't bring yourself to lie, haha. Okay good, so tomorrow, off it goes to Angela in your book. Thanks for letting me know :)
