This is my contribution to Dean Haven's moleskin. He left his subject matter open and since I know he is a big animal lover, I thought I'd do a painting of a cute little dog that was in my dog's training class.

.....but this work is so good !!
ReplyDeletei am fascinated !
This is sooo great, Edward! You are setting the bar really high for the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteEd, this is awesome. I love the look on the little guys face, and you have to wonder what thoughts are running through his head.
ReplyDeleteYep, Ed, this little fellow seems quite content to be at his master's feet. Your treatment of all aspects of the painting make me want to sit up and take notice. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI like James' remark I am sitting up and taking notice...... His face, eyes, nose and collar are so well done.
ReplyDeleteLucky Dean! It all works so well...I do love the slacks!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's fantastic, Ed!!! I love this pup, and those feet! :-D Wonderful painting.
ReplyDelete2 of my favorite things all in one painting, Birkenstocks and a pup! Besides the subject matter, the composition is wonderful, really like the suggestion that the man is relaxed (his stance, the leash, and yes, the Birks) contrasted with the very alert look on the dog's face. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteThat dog OWNS that painting! Well done!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Cindy
The colours and composition are so cool!! GREAT GREAT SHOT at this! Just Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery smart image. The colors and composition work well together. Rocking idea!
ReplyDeleteI think this dog sees another cutie in the lineup and he's counting the seconds until he can make his move. This is adorable, and well-painted of course, as you always do, Edward!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Am I happy with this one! Love the whole thing, my friend. That pup's face is a heart grabber! :)
ReplyDeleteYou do have a wonderful way with animals Ed. I love the way you got down to the pooch's level instead of looking down at him. GREAT JOB!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! How fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love the most is the guy's pants.
ReplyDeleteAs always a well done painting.
