On Vacation
What a great way to spend a quiet Sunday...PAINTING...something I haven't being doing much of lately. This is for Sheila Tajima, for her moleskin book. She requested everyone paint something that they love. Well I love, love, love figure paintings and of course trying to paint them myself. I wasn't sure what to do for her at first, then found this cool photo that I took of a group of Japanese tourists. Thought Sheila might get a kick out this.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great figure painting.
And Sheila? She gonna love it.
Vern, this may be my new favorite of yours! SO FUN and so well done. These figures are really solid and full of personality, the whole piece reeks of reality. Reeks isn't really a very nice word but you get my drift! LOVE IT! Sheila gonna love it for SURE!
ReplyDeleteDitto the above...love it, love it!!
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful figure painting! I love the repetition of the mass of vertical shapes with the vertical background columns contrasted with the horizontal shadows and building steps; very, very nice.
ReplyDeleteNot an easy one to handle, great painting Vern!
ReplyDeleteThis is so well done, Vern!
ReplyDeleteI just commented on this over at your blog, Vern.
ReplyDeleteExcellent interactions going on in this great piece!
Full of energy, life and warmth. Like you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting. Love it.
I knew from the first day I saw your work on DSFDF you had talent. Your the kind of person that does not have to find their voice in their art. You sing loud and clear and create beautiful harmony on paper and oils.
ReplyDeleteFantastic piece of life !
